Babussalam Great Mosque Pulau Weh: The largest beautiful grand mosque in Sabang, Weh Island

Babussalam Great Mosque or Sabang Grand Mosque is one of the largest mosques in the city of Sabang which is located in the center of the city of Sabang, Pulau Weh. Being one of the mosques in Weh Island with beautiful middle-eastern style architecture. The Babussalam Great Mosque is the center of religious activities for the Muslim community of Sabang Island (Pulau Weh) and one of the religious tourist attractions in Weh Island. This mosque was built on the initiative of the first mayor of the City of Sabang, namely Tengku Harun Ali in 1970.

The Great Mosque of Babussalam Sabang is one of the tourist attractions in Sabang where tourists often visit this mosque for worship, capturing photos and so on. This mosque is very neat and clean, making this mosque very suitable for religious tours while in Sabang. The mosque, which was built with development funds donated by the city government and the community, was renovated in 2002 and completed in 2006.

The expansion of the Sabang Grand Mosque or the Babussalam Great Mosque with the expansion of the buildings on the left and right of the mosque, the construction of four towers, underground ablution room, toilets, domes and also reliefs in several places inside and outside the mosque. In the mosque grounds, several facilities were also built, such as Balee (Gathering Houses) for harmony and meeting activities, madrasas and dormitories.
